Aromatherapy

What is it?

Aromatherapy is the therapeutic art of applying essential oils to suit individual needs. The oils work directly on the chemistry of the body, via the skin and bloodstream.

Essential oils are extracts that contain the substances that give plants their smell. Essential oils can have many different effects on the body, mind and spirit.

An aromatherapy massage is one of the gentlest and most soothing massages you can receive. When used in massage, essential oils are not only inhaled, but absorbed through the skin as well, working in the body long after the massage is over.

Our Aromatherapist is Natasha Joels.

What will happen when I come for a massage?

After your initial consultation your aromatherapist will select several essential oils, ones which are most suited to you, and will blend them into a massage oil. This blend of essential oils will then be used to give the massage. Any unused oil can be bottled for the client to take home.

Who can it help?

Aromatherapy is believed to be suitable for people of all ages, even babies. Aromatherapists claim that they can treat many conditions, and often see a great improvement in nervous disorders, such as depression, anger, stress and other related symptoms such as headaches and insomnia.

Who should avoid essential oils?

Our aromatherapists are highly trained professionals and will be able to advise you if for any medical reason, such as high blood pressure or pregnancy, you should avoid certain oils.
