What will
happen ?
You will first have an initial free half hour consultation in
which your therapist will ask you some general questions about
your health and your life. You will explore together what your
motivation to smoke is and which benefits you get from breaking
that habit. This consultation is important to the therapist
as they tailor a session for your individual needs from what
you have told them.
Your next session will be the actual stop smoking session. Each
session is unique to the individual but as a rule you will be
made comfortable by your therapist, and then put into a trance.
If you have ever daydreamed or been totally engrossed in a good
book or film to the point where you have lost track of time,
then you have already been in a hypnotic state. Being in a trance
means being in a very relaxed state from which you will awake
feeling really refreshed. Your therapist will then talk directly
to your unconscious, which reacts to these words and produces
your desired result – you wake up as a non-smoker!
